Organisational abuse
Organisational, or institutional abuse, is maltreatment from a person from a system of power. People ‘at the top’ enforcing rules and unaware of abuse issues lower in the organisation where people are working well below the standards, or relying or harsh or unfair ways to modify behaviour. This can range from one-off incidents to on-going ill treatment. Sadly, this type of abuse can be part of a culture of a service to which staff are accustomed and pass overlook for this reason.
