What you'll learn
This qualification means you'll be able to recognise a range of mental health conditions, how to start a supportive conversation and when and how to signpost a person to seek appropriate professional help.
You will know how to recognise and manage stress and understand the impact of substance abuse. You'll learn how to create and implement a first aid action plan for mental health, and create a positive mental health culture in the workplace. -
Why should I do this course
Each year approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health condition. Mental health conditions are often hidden due to stigma and fear of discrimination and research has shown that a culture of fear and silence around mental health is costly. This course will be of benefit in both your professional and personal lives, it will give you the knowledge to identify mental health conditions and the skills to start a supportive conversation.

The classroom for this course is located on the ground floor of our office, and is wheelchair accessible.
Course content
One hour of self directed study will need to be completed before attending, this will be explained after booking.

Assessment & Certification:
The course will be assessed through a practical assessment as well as open and multiple-choice questions. On successful completion of the assessment, you will be issued with a Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health which is valid for three years.
